Earth Policy Institute, Washington, DC
We are volunteering our SEO services to Lester Brown's organization in Washington.  Mr. Brown is one of the greatest whole system thinkers on the planet and anything we can do to help further his message will help to create an environmentally sustainable economy sooner.  As Lester points out in his new book, "Plan B", we need a World War II effort to get sustainable and don't have much time to start getting it done.  You can read his book online in Adobe Acrobat PDF.  Buy 10 and give them to your friends.

Tennessee Forests Council, Tennessee
A new web for a new coalition of environmental groups who are advocating for sustainable forestry regulations in Tennessee with a special focus on the Cumberland Plateau.  The Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee is one of the most biodiverse areas in the world and the most biodiverse inland area in the United States.  The National Resource Defense Council recently named the Plateau on of their biogems.  Clear cutting and pine monoculture conversion by the forest, pulp and paper industries and many corporate absentee landowners is posing a sever threat to biodiversity in Tennessee.

Public Eyes TV, Naples, Florida
Online streaming video portal for environmental news, including a recent 19 minute documentary and two week newspaper series by the Naples Daily News on life threatening environmental degradation of the Gulf of Mexico from Texas to the Florida Keys.

The International Simultaneous Policy Organization  London, England, UK
SIMPOL is a worldwide organization promoting a bold new global policy to regulate economic globalization and promote world peace, social justice and environmental sustainability.  We donated our search engine optimization consulting services to help promote the cause.  SIMPOL advised that SEO recommendations made in late November 2003 resulted in a 70% increase in search engine directed traffic to their web during by the end of January 2004.  In February 2004 the SIMPOL web design "committee" decided to undo our recommendations.  Why?  Remember the word committee? We did what we said we could do.  We cannot undo the bad advice of others.  Herd mentality may not be a good thing when the slowest members of the hear have the loudest voices.

Writing, Video and Presentation Projects:

Habitat Lost is a 33 minute video documentary regarding conflict between Atlanta Habitat for Humanity and the residents of Lakewood Heights, Georgia who oppose a 41 house subdivision on 11 acres of mature urban forest 4 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.  Atlanta, one of the most air quality challenged cities in the Southeast, needs a minimum of 40% tree canopy to preserve air quality.  Atlanta is presently down to 27 percent tree canopy due to old thinking development like the project proposed by Atlanta Habitat.  Habitat in Atlanta is not envirosavvy, unfortunately.

Saving Great Spaces is a 9 minute video production for the fundraising efforts of the Friends of South Cumberland to support Tennessee's largest state wilderness park.  The video stars former Postmaster General of the United States and Chairman of TVA, Mr. Marvin Runyon, and former Tennessee Governor Winfield Dunn.

"Politicans Pummel Parks", a 7,000 word investigative analytical article on the problems with Tennessee State Parks, first published in the statewide Tennes-Sierran Sierra Club newspaper.  The article lead to news features on the three major TV network affiliates in Nashville, a news item on WPLN Public Radio, a state column item in USA Today, an AP story and numerous citations in newspapers across the state.  To see the PDF version, click here.
