Newsletter April 7, 2006
Greetings,
Google Base
and Keyword Research
Don't know
about Google Base? This is why I am sending this
newsletter.
For some of my web
marketing clients, I am starting to see listings
from Google Base appearing in the general Google
search results. It isn't working outside the U.S.
right now, but should in the near future.
If you have a product
line, now is the time (not later, do this right now
ASAP) to get your products listed in Google Base.
Just like PayPal, Google Base works as a merchant
gateway.
Some are predicting
that Google Base will be the "eBay Killer." This is
the direction I believe Google Base is heading, to
eventually compete heads up with eBay and PayPal.
You can include
information about all types of online and offline
content. Items you submit to Google Base can be
found on Google Base and, depending on their
relevance, may also appear on other Google
properties like Google, Froogle and Google Local.
Google Base enables
you to add attributes that better describe your
content so that users can easily find it. The more
popular specific attributes become, the more often
Google will suggest them when others post the same
items. Similarly, items that become more popular
will show up as suggested item types in the Choose
an existing item type drop down menu.
You can post RSS and
other types of feeds.
You can BLOG on Google
Base.
Google base is FREE.
Search engine
optimization principles apply not only to your
website, but also to your press releases, media
releases and will make a huge difference for Google
Base.
If you search on
Google for keyword services, you will see my web # 2
out of 319,000,000? Might be # 3, my friend Jim
Morris at NicheBot.com and I are right in there neck
and neck. May depend on which Google data center
you use. I am usually # 3 but I have added 30 pages
of good content to my web in the past 3 weeks.
Wordtracker is # 1 at
Google for keyword services and rightly so.
Wordtracker is Mike and Andy Mindell's search phrase
research database web in the UK. I am on the
Wordtracker beta team. You can hire Wordtracker by
the day, week, etc. I am an annual subscriber so I
can go use Wordtracker any time I need it, and I can
tell you I do not put a web page online until I have
done keyword research. You will be amazed at what
you find at Wordtracker.
The fastest way to
learn the power of Wordtracker is to buy my Canadian
friend John Alexander's eBook "Wordtracker Magic".
Cost is right at US$30. Read about it on my keyword
services page. I am an affiliate so if you buy it
through me I get a little commission, thanks. The
knowledge in John's book is worth 1,000 times the
book price. This is not hype. Learning to use
Wordtracker correctly has earned me and my clients
many hundreds of thousands of dollars in increased
revenue.
Next time you put out
a press release, use Wordtracker to see if you can
build in a couple of very busy high performance
phrases related to real world news or real world
marketing. Or, when you are ready to make a BLOG
posting, go spend a couple of minutes to find a
highly searched phrase about your subject that will
get you a good search engine ranking.
Go check out Google
Base and put it to work! NOW. Have a nice weekend.
Cheers,
Ron Castle
